Sony Xperia Play Problems: O2 Release Delayed Due To Bug

The Fantasy that gamers with cell phones have had for years has now become a reality, a combination of both of those devices. We have been waiting for the release of it in the UK across all of the major carriers but today we have some bad news for those of you wanting it on O2, the Sony Xperia Play problems have started and the O2 release will be delayed due to a bug.

We learned of the software bugs through an article that’s been posted over on Engadget by their author Vlad Savov. He says that O2 will hold back the release on April 1st as they have found some software bugs on Android Gingerbread 2.3 and that they want to iron them out before it’s released onto their network.

What’s interesting is none of the other carriers in the UK that plan to release the device on April 1st but there’s not been a peep out of any of them. We are hoping that O2 aren’t planning the biggest April Fool’s Day joke of all time and that it is merely the curse of the white device that O2 has exclusivity over.

The original source for this information came from an official O2 blog post where they explain that each device goes through a rigorous testing regime (they play with it a lot) before unleashing them onto their customers. Interestingly Sony Ericsson has released a statement that you can see below.

Are you disappointed by this or is it the biggest April Fool’s joke ever?! Let us know in the comments section below.
