MSI GX680: Specs To Die For – Price An Issue For Release?

MSI has been dipping their toes into a few different markets in recent times; we have already seen a report on the MSI Winpad 100W and the MSI Tablet with the Tegra 2 dual-core processor. Both of those machines look decent and with the addition of Honeycomb to the latter it could perhaps if priced rightly become a contender in what is becoming a crowded market.

Today we have news of a laptop from MSI called the GX680 and it simply has specs to die for, the only problem with a laptop of such quality is it normally carries with it a hefty price tag. We are wondering if the overall cost of the laptop will be an issue when it comes to its release.

Over at Engadget, their author Tim Stevens has compiled a report detailing the specifications that you can expect to see on this beast of a laptop. It has a 15.5” 1080p display, dual 750GB HDDs which are configurable in RAID, an Intel Core i7 2630QM processor and it can house up to 16GB of DDR3 RAM. Just on those so far you can expect the price tag to be rising but when its mentioned that it will also be packing the GeForce GT 555M graphics from NVIDIA .

Now that we have told you some of the specs you can expect to see you can read about the features in their entirety from the official MSI website. There are quite a few of them so we will let you read through them all as there are simply too many to be listing.

What do you think of this laptop from MSI? Do you think it will carry a high price tag in-turn putting people off the purchase? Let us know in the comments section below.

Price won't bother some people, the fact that it's a lappie and not really upgradeable would bother me though. I bet the USB and other ports are still so close together that you can't use 'em all though. That's the number one problem with lappies for me, they never take the sheathing into account when spacing ports and sockets.
Euromillions tonight, big one….I bet I'd need that to afford this lovely bestie lol
