Buffalo BRXL-PC6U2-BK Media Burner: Price Is A Stumbling Block

At OSM we haven’t spoken to you too much about media burning devices in the past so we thought it was about time that we did. Today we have a device called the Buffalo BRXL-PC6U2-BK Media burning device where unfortunately the price is a stumbling block.

It has a lovely design with a sleek black encasement and interestingly if you would like to take full advantage of its 4x media writing capabilities, you will need to give it juice through not one but two USB 2.0 ports for it to complete the task as advised by Michael Gorman of Engadget. These two features are quite rare in this field as generally you would only require one USB connection and let’s be honest, they are normally quite ugly don’t you think?

Anyway, back on the subject, we already know that this little bad boy is a bit of a looker and it likes a bit of power but what we haven’t mentioned yet is that it is the world’s first BDXL Blu-ray compatible drive.

Now we come to the all important details, when’s it out and how much wonga will it set you back? It comes in at ¥22,100 which in terms of dollars hits us at $275 with a launch date of the end of March, so we are looking at next week. We would urge you before you get your heart set on it to head over to the Buffalo website (translated from Japanese) and have a good read of what you are getting for your cash as it could be what you are looking for.

Will you be picking this up from Buffalo? Let us know in the comments section below.
