Apple iPad 2 On Orange UK: Could Price Plans Rival Vodafone Offer?

Following the unfortunate technical problems that people have recently encountered when trying to order their iPad 2 from the UK Apple Store, it may seem people feel a little lost when deciding what avenue to take to get their hands on this new Apple device.

For people who were affected by these problems and don’t fancy a long wait queuing up outside an Apple store, network carrier Orange might be able to help you with this predicament after revealing their price plans and cost options for the iPad 2, according to this post from Techradar Orange stock levels of this device are not a problem.

We have already reported on what price plans rival network Vodafone will be offering you can have a look at these here. So what can we expect from Orange? According to T3.com the 16GB 3G iPad 2 could be yours for £199 if you’re willing to pay £25 a month and sign up to a 24 month contract.

For this monthly charge you will receive 1GB of data that you can use any time of day, plus an additional 1GB of quiet time data to be used between the hours of midnight and 4PM every month. To coincide with the launch Orange will also be running a competition in their flagship London store, potential buyers have the chance to win one of these new tablets if they come dressed as a representation of their favourite app.

This deal is roughly the same as what Vodafone are offering, both require a two year contract, you get 2GB data allowance with both although Vodafone give you no time restriction of when you can use it. The cost of the unit is roughly the same but Orange seems to be slightly cheaper, price seems to be pretty close and the real decision may just fall down to personal carrier preference.

What are your thoughts on Orange’s price plan? Who will you buy the iPad 2 from?
