T-Mobile’s Nokia C7 Astound Gets A Hands On Review

Nokia are still one of the big boys in terms of cell phones and their new model the C7 Astound has already been priced for T-Mobile with a release date of April 6th. We also know some of the specs and that it will be shipping with the Symbian OS.

T-Mobile has been pretty influential at CTIA 2011 and has shown a few different devices. Of course the C7 Astound is also present and Chris Burns of Slashgear has added a report where they get a full hands-on. It has some pretty good specs and features so let’s just have a little recap on what you can expect from Nokia’s new device.

It has an 8 megapixel camera, a 3.5” capacitive touch AMOLED display, and a few pre-loaded games such as Fruit Ninja. Burns assures us that despite its cheap price this isn’t a cheap phone, you will be able to pick it up for $79.99 following a $50 mail-in rebate with a two-year contract.

Whilst this slick looking phone is aesthetically pleasing Burns describes it as not being a smartphone because of his interpretation. He sees smartphones as the top of the line devices but let’s face it, any cell phone that does more than your average is indeed a smart – phone. Check out the video at the bottom of the article so you can see it properly.

And the C7 Astound has some nice photo apps for its 8Mpixel cam like ’3DPhotoFree’ which makes the Astound into a 3D camera phone
