Are you one of a number of people that get fed up with charging up your smartphone with a tangled mess from your charger. An ingenious but not a new idea, has surfaced from tech company LG. During this weeks CTIA event, the device named the “Wireless WCP-700 Charging Pad” was seen in all its glory.
As we mentioned the new pad is not a new concept, in fact as BGR reported, if we cast our minds back to 2 years ago, the Palm Pre Touchstone charging station, along with Powermat and Duracell were all contenders for the title of “new charging pad.”
Because the lightweight and very portable WCP-700 is still in the early stages, its difficult to ascertain what LG smartphones will be compatible with the pad, but in terms of how it works, the pad incorporates a power indicator which will tell you how much juice life is left with as pcworld.com indicated, a set of LED lights, and LG have stated that the device in total takes up to 2 hours to charge. A simple to use backing is then placed on the device for it to be popped onto the pad in question.
LG’s example is a cut above the rest because it will give you guidance as to where to position your handset. Although a solid release date is still not known, pcworld.com stated that it is hoping to make an entrance next month for a retail price of $69.99.
Is this something that would interest you? What are your thoughts towards the cost, is it keenly priced?
