Shazam’s Android & IOS App Gets Updated: New Shazam Friends

Here at OSM we like to bring you all the news on the latest apps and updates, if you an Android or iPhone user and use the Shazam music app then we may have some news that may interest you, this music recognition app has just been updated and now includes a Shazam Friends feature.

For anyone not familiar with this app here is a quick explanation of what it does, if you have ever been in the situation where you hear a song you like but don’t know who the artist is then this app is for you. When listening to a song start up Shazam on your mobile device and it will then proceed to record a snippet of the track and verify it with its database and let you know the name of the song along with the artist.

According to this post from Pocket-Lint.com the new updates friends feature, will integrate with the users Facebook account and let their friends know what tracks are resonating their eardrums. This will add real-time feeds to your buddies who can listen to previews of your tagged songs, and even watch the videos on YouTube or buy the track.

Shazam Friends is very easy to set up once you have downloaded the updated app, all you need to do is click on the Friends tab and fill in your details to log into Facebook. This latest update is available to for all users of both Shazam Free and encore on Apples IOS devices, unfortunately Android users will have to wait a few weeks before it is released on Shazam RED.
