Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 & 10.1 Official Specs & Price – Hands On

Following on from the huge success of the iPad 2 many manufacturers are trying to outclass Apple with their latest Tablet offerings, looking to take a huge share in this market Samsung has just announced at CTIA two new Galaxy Tabs, the 8.9 and the 10.1.

The 8.9 version of this tablet has been talked about for many months now but the 10.1 came as a bit of a surprise as this is a total revamp of what was previously on offer, this device has been stripped down and now measures a mere 8.6mm thick.

The guys over at Engadget were extremely lucky enough to get their hands on these great pieces of kit, you can see the picture below of both these devices. If you want to check out some more close up images of these two tablets then follow this link to their post here.

Both these devices will be rocking some pretty awesome specs, running on the company’s new TouchWiz 4.0 which is specifically designed for Android 3.0 tablets. Both will feature a new music hub with 1080p playback offering Flash 10.2 support and a great surround sound system that uses dual speakers.

The new 10.1 variant will be available on June 8th in 16GB and 32GB Wi-Fi models with a modest price tag of $499 and $599, the 8.9 device will be available to purchase early this summer and will also come in both 16GB and 32GB variants with the low cost of $469 and $569. You can read more on the specs by following this link over to Engadget’s live Samsung CTIA blog.
