CTIA 2011 LG G2x for T-Mobile: Hands-on, Insanely Quick

Only earlier today we told how the LG G2x for T-Mobile was now official and will be arriving this spring. For those who hadn’t heard the G2x has been renamed for the U.S. and is otherwise known as the Optimus 2X. This is a highly impressive handset with a dual-core processor and 4G capability and now we’ve heard of a hands-on experience which has good things to report.

Todd Haselton over on BGR got a hands-on look at this Android 2.2 smartphone down at CTIA 2011 and noted that it’s Tegra 2 dual-core processor made it “insanely quick,” reporting that applications seemed to open and close instantly. In the hands it was said to feel robust and definitely like a high-end device although apparently showed fingerprints rather too easily (certainly not a deal breaker).

The high-speed performance will be great when considering the phone’s Tegra Zone gaming facility and there was also a thumbs-up for the camera shots taken. All-in-all BGR thought the G2x could be one of the best T-Mobile smartphones for the first half of the year. Head to the BGR link above if you want to see some great photos from their hands-on time with the LG G2x.

If you want to find out more, the official product page can now be seen at T-Mobile here where the G2x is listed as coming soon. What are your thoughts on T-Mobile’s G2x? Let us know with your comments.
