BlackBerry PlayBook Given Official Price & Release Date

If any of you are like us at OSM then you might be a little confused if you are looking to purchase a tablet PC. There are so many around that look to sap off the success that Apple had last year with the original iPad, at CES 2011 alone we saw more than fifty different models showcased!

Back at CES there were a couple that were the stand-out machines in the Motorola Xoom that had a massive build up, the Notion Ink Adam that was perhaps the surprise package of the bunch and of course a device from RIM called the BlackBerry PlayBook. The PlayBook has been highly anticipated and now it has been given an official release date and price for all WiFi models.

We have already reported on how the video conferencing may help to push the sales of the tablet perhaps aimed at business users and now we have the official pricing of the device you might want to start weighing up your options. As reported by Engadget’s Vlad Savov, RIM has managed to sneak the 7-inch sub-$500 device as it has been added to the Best Buy listings.

The PlayBook version that’s up for $499.99 is the 16GB WiFi only one but it’s ok; we have the prices for the other WiFi only models too. The 32GB version is at $600 and the next one up, the 64GB tablet is at $700. These snazzy BlackBerry tablets are going to be available on March 19th for all of you interested in them.
