Nexus S 4G coming to Sprint: Pure Google Android Smartphone

We’ve reported previously on Google’s Nexus S smartphone, and now we hear the Nexus S Android handset is coming to Sprint with 4G, which should interest an awful lot of people.

This Android 2.3 Gingerbread smartphone with 4G speeds and also fully integrated Google Voice should make people sit up and take notice. Vlad Savov over on Engadget brings us the news, sourced form Sprint, which was spotted by an eagle-eyed observer trawling through the Sprint website but unsurprisingly perhaps the information has now been taken down from the web portal.

If you want to know more about the Google Voice aspect of this WiMAX device the leaked snippet shows Google’s description of it saying, “Use the same number for all your calls and get cool features like voicemail transcription, Web Calling and more.” It also touts this feature as “Pure Google” and this sounds like it could be a real selling point.

Chris Davies over on Android Community reports that the Nexus S 4G is expected to have the usual Super AMOLED display with 5-megapixel rear camera, front webcam and NFC capability, and also speculates we’ll hear further news on this from Sprint at CTIA 2011 this week.
