evoMouse: Use Your Hand Without Touching A Device

At OSM we have reported on a few different types of mouse, the majority of them are gaming ones such as the StarCraft 2 Spectre, the Naga Epic and of course the DeathAdder from Razer. There’s another one that Logitech released a while ago that has 2 years worth of usage!

Now we have caught wind of a new one through an article over at Slashgear by Shane McGlaun. The report talks about a new type of mouse where you use your hand to control it without touching any devices. We realize that sounds a bit crazy so we will try to explain what is going on.

The device is called the evoMouse and Slashgear say that you can get it in two forms, one is a cube and the other is a pet shape. The pet version is only a mouse that picks up the movements of your hands much like that of the touchpad of a MacBook laptop. It seems to support a few different types of gesture control such as scrolling, clicking, double clicking and right clicking.

This little device is even capable of picking up your own handwriting using a pen. The cubed version also comes with something a bit special, it has a full projected keyboard as detailed by Gizmag’s Darren Quick and shown at the bottom of the article. As things stand there’s no mention of release date or price but once we hear more we will update you.

What do you think of the design? Do you think they should have called it something else as it doesn’t really look like a mouse? Let us know your thoughts and other suggested names in the comments section below.
