Facebook Promotions: Deals Feature In The News Feed

Facebook is evolving in many different ways; one of them is the way that they are attempting to compete with the likes of Foursquare by offering more deals. The Facebook deal pages went live a little while back in both the US and in the UK and now we are starting to see where they are going with it.

Other recent reports have seen how the Facebook deals page would be expanding and it may rival Groupon. Just mentioning Foursquare and Groupon have found success in recent times with their deals however if anyone can rival them it’s the number one social network in the world; Facebook. The promotional deals will now start to feature in the news feed which should have an effect on the overall number of deals that are taken advantage of.

We learned of this through allfacebook.com’s Nick O’Neill who reports that with these new promotions the social networking giant are going into direct competition with Groupon and LivingSocial however it’s not just them at risk.

With the promotions being extended to businesses it’s pretty clear that Facebook are going to be taking a cut of the profits of each deal that is purchased. It isn’t clear at the moment whether or not you will be able to secure a promotion or not using Facebook credits although we expect you will be able to if not at first soon after.

With the deals appearing in the news feed, are you more likely to take advantage of them? Let us know in the comments section below.
