How Facebook Causes Is Helping Japan Following The Tsunami

When it comes to disasters such as what has happened in Japan the whole world tries to help in different ways. This is still true in the world of social media and social networking. We have recently reported on how Celebrities are Tweeting about the crisis which in turn will raise the awareness even more.

One of our authors Debbie Turner also added an article about sending search dogs to Japan using Facebook which will be very helpful for those that are lost. Today we wanted to talk to you all a little bit more about how Facebook’s “Causes” section is helping Japan following the earthquake and tsunami.

As reported by allfacebook.com’s Jorge Cino Facebook Causes has managed to raise $31,130 for Japan’s earthquake and tsunami, this follows donations by 897 and aided by 2,929 promoters. There are thousands of people posting on their Facebook pages about the catastrophic. Many of the posts that people are adding are wishing Japan and Japanese families well and mentioning that prayers are going out to them.

Check out the video at the bottom of the article by SavetheChildrenUSA where Kevin Sorbo is saying that in any emergency the children are the most vulnerable and you can contribute towards the cause offering the link www.savethechildren.org.

OSM readers, have you already donated to help Japan? If you haven’t, do you plan to and where are your donations going to go? Let us know in the comments section below.
