2011 Formula 1 Apps for Android and iOS: Free and Paid

Here at OSM we know from response to previous posts that many of you out there are Formula 1 enthusiasts so we can imagine the excitement building right now with the start of the new season just around the corner. Now we have news for you of a free app for Formula 1, to keep you in touch every step of the way, as well as a paid for app for real petrolheads.

The news of the Formula One Android app comes to us from Phil NIckinson over on AndroidCentral and comes direct from the official F1 website. The app has no release date yet but will be ready for the opening race of the season in Australia on March 27. You need to register with F1.com for the app and emails will be sent out when it’s available.

You really won’t need to miss a single thing, even if you can’t be in front of the TV throughout every race. Some of the app features include live timing data, push notifications, track info, results, calendar, weather info and much, much more.

Toby Moses over on guardian.co.uk also brings our attention to another app but this one is really for complete devotees of Formula One as it costs £19.99. Called the F1 2011 Timing App it’s available for iOS and Android and features a 3D moving map tracking with positions of cars during each race plus live commentary. It looks truly impressive so check out the link for more details on that one.
