HTC Droid Incredible 2 on Verizon: Specs Detail Ample Battery

A handset looking like the successor to HTC’s DROID Incredible, the HTC DROID Incredible 2, recently made an appearance on some Verizon internal listings. However, little else was know about this smartphone although the fact it was on the listings usually means it will be coming soon. We now have the news that a lot of you will be waiting for as we have information of some specs for you.

Although this is not one of the new 4G Android smartphones coming to Verizon’s LTE network, by the looks of the specs it could certainly give some of the other 4G phones such as the HTC ThunderBolt and LG Revolution, a run for their money. The DROID Incredible 2 is the US version of the Incredible S as it’s known for Europe, and it’s thought that it will be running Android 2.3 with Sense by release, although when spotted was using Android 2.2.

Over on AndroidSpin, Michael Joggins tells how they managed to get a look at this new HTC handset and some photos and specs news for the DROID Incredible 2. From the images we can see it looks like a pretty nice handset and the specs certainly impress. It has a 4-inch Super LCD WVGA screen, 8-megapixel rear camera and 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, 4GB of internal storage and 768mb of RAM. All this, powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM 8655 processor and using an ample 1,450mAH battery.

Over on Electronista it’s thought that the DROID Incredible 2 may make an appearance at CTIA in late March and there’s also speculation that maybe the phone will be released in April for the anniversary of the first HTC Incredible, although there’s no firm release news yet. We shall, of course, keep you updated on this. What are your thoughts on this notable Android smartphone? Let us know with your comments.
