Xperia Arc Touches Down: UK Release Date March 21st

With the hype surrounding Sony Ericsson’s Xperia range it would seem that handsets like the Xperia Play and the Xperia Neo are hogging the limelight, in order to switch the focus were bringing you news about the Xperia Arc which is set to make its UK release on March 21st.

This device is one of four that was announced by the company at MWC 2011, since then we have heard very little about this handset until now. According to Pocketlint this device will have stock available from the week commencing the 21st of March.

In this post we are told that the Arc will be released on all five major UK networks which are Vodafone, Network 3, O2, T-Mobile and Orange. The best deal so far on this handset seems to be a 2 year contract costing you £25 a month and an additional £29.99 for the cost of the handset itself, you can read more on this by clicking the link to this post here.

For anyone that’s not familiar with this piece of kit here is a quick recap, this 4.2inch touch screen phone will be running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. To coincide with this great OS the phone offers up a great spec list of an 8MP camera, 1GHz processor, video recording 720p at 30fps and expandable memory up to 32GB. You can read more on the specs by following this link to the official Sony Ericsson site.

If you want to see this handset working we have embedded a video below for you to have a look at, what are your thoughts on this device? Will you be purchasing an Xperia Arc? Or maybe one of the other handsets from the Xperia range, either way we would like to hear your thoughts on this, share them with us below.

Been waiting for it to come out for ages..havent been this excited about a phone release since the Nokia N97. Waited months for it and got it when it finally arrived.. hope the Arc isnt a piece of crap like the N97!!

Only doubt in my mind is that itll be the first batch released, how does it compare to the Pro and Neo and I ve also been reading about the problems with the X10!

That said, i'll be getting it on Vodafone I'm sure!
