Gemini FirstMix: DJ From Your Laptop

There are lots of different types of equipment around that help with computing but there are also some around that help you with being a DJ. Take the Pioneer DJM-900 Nexus Pro Mixer for example; this is a really cool device that we previously reported on.

Now we heard from Slashgear’s Chris Davies of a new tool that makes DJing affordable to almost anyone. They explain that there’s a gap in the market for a budget device that is intended for use with your MP3 library and notebook however they are normally pricey.

However, Gemini has created the FirstMix. It’s a USB DJ controller that comes with a copy of MixVibes CROSS LE and it has support of a range of audio files including MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, OGG and AIFF. It also works with PCs and Macs so don’t worry too much about compatibility.

This all sounds pretty impressive and if you want to you can learn more about it over at their official website on this link. Check out the video at the bottom of the article and if you want to know what people think about it firsthand then join up to their Facebook page. It’s been priced at $79.95 and is available from May 2011.
