Red Nose Day 2011: Follow The Event On Free iOS App

With Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day about to kick off in 10 days time on the 18th March, many of you will be taking part in sponsored events up and down the country, or even watching all the goings on live on the BBC channels. For the unlucky few that will not be able to catch up with the jammed packed show and see the millions of pounds announced at spaced out intervals, fret no more as a free iOS app from iTunes compatible with the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch running iOS 3.1.3 or later is now here!

The yearly event is a fantastic way to think about those who may be less fortunate than ourselves and since launching back in 1985 by writer Richard Curtis and Alexander Mendis, the charity has raised millions and millions of pounds for causes in the UK and for those plighted in Africa.

The app as Pocketlint reported, will not only give you updated information about goings on as they happen but will offer entertainment, line-ups for the show such as celebrity acts, games as PR News stated such as “Pick a Nose” which enables you to pick a nose as much as possible to gain respect or the “Ask Monkey” game which will see the cheeky PG Tips Red Nose Day Mascot giving you answers to specific questions.

Along with this, you will get the benefit of seeing what the celebrities are tweeting about with the aid of the RND Twitter Feed. The Red Nose Day in your Pocket app also includes host Claudia Winkleman and the lovely David Tennant (aka former Doctor Who) counting down the timer to when it all finishes with a grand total of totals.

We couldn’t leave without telling you of course about the Donate button which as well as the funny antics of the day and evening, plays a huge part of making 2011’s event successful.

Tell us how you will be getting involved this year? Will you be downloading the free app?
