New TweetDeck: Major revamp of iOS version

Many of you may well be users of TweetDeck, the popular desktop and mobile Twitter tool that gives users the capability of producing columns of information streams. Some of you will also be users of its iOS app for Apple devices, and the news today is that the app is receiving a major revamp.

The free app will be released within the next two weeks and has been redesigned from the ground up and apparently should look particularly good on the Retina display of the iPhone 4 (or upcoming iPhone 5). The major new feature on the newer version of TweetDeck for iOS is fully flexible columns, according to Stan Schroeder over on Mashable.

The new, improved TweetDeck for iOS will enable streams such as Facebook feeds, Twitter messages and lists to be combined in customized categories, which should go down well with regular TweetDeck users. The revamp is currently in beta but coming soon as stated previously and will certainly be on show at SXSW between March 11 and 20.

According to an article over on PCMag, TweetDeck’s community manager, Richard Barley, said in a blog, “For our brand new iPhone/iPad app, we have taken this level of quality and innovation and built in a whole bucketful of magic to create a TweetDeck app that will raise the bar for iOS apps just like we did for Android.” A whole bucketful of magic – now that sounds promising!
