iPad 2 Information Roundup: All We Know So Far and More

We’ve been following all the news and speculation about the Apple iPad 2 and in the run-up to the official launch last week brought you many ideas about just what we might see. Since the launch we’ve also brought you many more articles about the iPad 2, due out in the U.S. this week, and we thought we’d do an information roundup for you so that you can access everything you need from one article.

We’ll provide links to our previous articles so if you want to find out more about any individual aspects or insights as we go simply click on the links for more. We want to start off with a few of the more practical aspects that you need to know about the iPad 2 and we gave you details of specs and prices, plus release dates both in the U.S. and overseas, the fact that the latest iPad also comes in white as well as the usual black version, and also the news that it will be available in Best Buy, Walmart and Sam’s Club retail stores on release. We also told how the appearance of Steve Jobs at the keynote for the iPad 2 created an immediate gain for Apple shares.

Moving on to various features for the new iPad we’ve posted articles on the iPad 2 design, the A5 processor chip and the Photo Booth utility and FaceTime. We’ve also informed readers of a hands-on experience with the iPad 2, taken a look at how video mirroring is possible and told how the latest operating system, iOS 4.3 will be available at the same time as the iPad 2. We asked about Thunderbolt and RAM and then later we took a look at iPad 2 storage and looked into whether the 16GB version would be adequate for average needs. We’ve also posted various articles about accessories, such as cases, covers and stands for the iPad 2 and you can find an accessory roundup here.

On top of all these we also published some articles with insights and questions about the iPad 2. For example we published a comparison of the iPad 2 vs. the Xoom, TouchPad and PlayBook, spoke of the tablet war, and mentioned that if you have an iPad 2 with the magnetic Smart Cover you might want to keep it at a distance from your MacBook Pro or MacBook Air. We wondered if the release of the iPad 2 would kill interest in Motorola’s Xoom tablet and also whether the appearance of the white iPad 2 meant that there was more likelihood of a white iPhone 5.

Prior to the new iPad release there were rumors of an iPad 3 being released in the fall and we asked if those rumors were now scuppered by something Jobs said at the iPad 2 launch. We have looked at how the original iPad is now reduced in price and how the launch of the impressive iPad 2 could affect the price of the forthcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. Finally we told how Best Buy sales advisors may be receiving free iPads and how it has been estimated that between 2 to 3 million shipments of the iPad 2 will be made in March.

If you’re interested in the Apple iPad 2 there’s a lot of information to get stuck into here and at least we hope you’ll find it easier to find exactly the details you were looking for. No doubt we’ll be writing much more yet, especially with the release coming in the next week and of course, the first reviews, so do check back with us for more.
