Ashton Kutcher Gets Punk’d With Twitter Hack

With the increase in popularity of Social networking site Twitter is seems it’s not just your average Joe that’s taking on this trend, a few days ago we saw Charlie Sheen open an account and gain a huge following almost instantly. Sheen isn’t the only Twitter celeb to hit the news this week, Heart throb Ashton Kutcher also made an appearance after getting Punk’d by someone who managed to hack his Twitter account.

Kutcher who has one of the biggest following on this site with over 6.3 million followers, was attending the Ted 2011 conference when this incident took place. Whilst sitting blissfully unaware at the conference, someone had managed to gain access to his Twitter account and leave an array of teasing messages.

These cheeky comments were “Ashton, you’ve been Punk’d. This account is not secure. Dude, where’s my SSL?” and “P.S. This is for those young protesters around the world who deserve not to have their Facebook & Twitter accounts hacked like this. #SSL”. You can read more on these in this post from the

At the moment no one seems to know who done this or what the true meaning is behind the second comment, according to this post from this hack could have been made possible by using an unsecured Wi-Fi network provided by the conference. Either way this latest stunt is sure to raise suspicions over the security of Twitter.

At the end of all this we think that Kutcher got off pretty lightly, if you had access to some ones account that had over 6 million followers what sort of message would you have posted? You’re a lucky man MR Kutcher a very lucky man.

What are your thoughts on this? Did he get away pretty lightly?
