Google Personal Profiles Refresh: Decide what the world sees

If you’re a Gmail user then this news is for you as we’ve heard that Google has redesigned its Google Profiles pages. Anyone using Gmail has a profile page which they can set up with images and info about themselves and now there’s a new look.

Your photo will now appear at the top left of your Profile which now looks similar to the information page on your Facebook Profile according to Stan Schroeder over on Mashable. Important information about you is displayed beneath and then there’s a scrapbook photo section and more room for personal information about yourself such as your occupation, education and more. If you want to update your Google profile or create one, head to profiles.google.com.

The new look is fresh and has a nice clean streamlined feel to it and your profile appearance could be pretty important as if people Google your name, depending on your profile setting, your profile page could be visible under search results. As the Google Blog states, “Decide what the world sees when it searches for you.” The new Google Profiles pages are particularly aimed at individuals but Google does say that it continues to work on businesses engaging with customers too, so no doubt we’ll be hearing more on that shortly.
