Apple iPad 2 Enters The Epic War Of The Tablet PC

The Internet has gone crazy with the Apple iPad being announced yesterday at the Apple keynote, so far we know that it has some good specs, comes in a choice of black or white and it has that all important dual-core processor – ARM Cortex A5. There are however a few things that we are waiting to hear about and that is the Thunderbolt peripheral inclusion or not and also how much RAM it has?

That’s all well and good but what is also important is that the iPad 2 has just entered its new device into an all out war. We have seen lots of tablet PCs in recent times appearing at CES 2011 and also at MWC 2011. CES actually saw more than fifty tablets showcased!

So which ones will actually be competitors for the new iconic tablet? Of course there’s the Motorola Xoom but it will have to reduce its prices to compete with the new Apple tablet. There’s also the new MSI tablet that features the dual-core Tegra 2 and runs on Android Honeycomb that’s on its way.

Another couple that will be on the same battlefield are the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 but this one we don’t feel will compete with the others too much (could be wrong there) and the LG Optimus (G-Slate) Pad which is a 3D tablet.

There’s also one other tablet that we are expecting to see later this year that will perhaps offer some competition if you haven’t already blown your cash on the iPad 2 and it’s from NVIDIA, at the moment it’s called Project Kal-el and it is rumored to be a quad-core tablet so keep your eyes peeled for that guy.

One of the key things with all of these tablets is the price, if you take a look at the image below then you are about to realize that the Apple iPad 2 isn’t exactly going to break the bank, it’s not going to be as expensive as everyone was worried about.

In this war in the tablet PC market who do you think is going to come out on top?
