Olympus TOUGH TG-810 Camera: “Crushproof ” To A Weight Of 100KG

In the market for a new camera but not sure which one to get? Want something that not only gives you a fantastic list of features but is durable enough to withstand knocks and bumps? Well the answer is the indestructible Olympus TOUCH TG-810 which will not only take some great quality pictures including the benefit of taking 3D and 720p HD movies which can be uploaded via your PC with the aid of a Eye-Fi card, but will still be capable of working even if crushed under a maximum weight of 100kg.

Yes that’s right, a crushproof camera which can be used in all conditions, anywhere from the relaxation of your home right through to being on an activity holiday.

Along with being the world’s first crushproof camera, it is also resilient enough to withstand water up to 10 metres as well as a built-in manometer for checking water depth particularly for those of you diving, shockproof up to 2 metres and freezeproof for up to 10 degrees Celsius.

As Slashgear reported, included with the TG-810 is a sliding double locking mechanism protecting the battery, card slots and ports and metal lens barrier for the ultimate protection. Also you can expect to find 5 x optical zoom, high resolution glare-resistant HyperCrystal III LCD, dual-image stabilization for that shaky hand, 14 megapixel sensor, GPS giving over 700,000 geographic points of interest, 3 sensor electronic compass which works even with the camera being turned off, Face/Pet and Scene Detection Mode.

Although we haven’t got a concrete release date, the Olympus TOUCH TG-810 will go on sale the middle of this month and will be available in silver and black retailing at €299.
