iPad 2 Will Disappoint: iPad 3 To Bring Bigger Greater Things End 2011?

Today March 2, will no doubt be one of the biggest days in the tech world in terms of announcements. We are of course talking about the next generation iPad or iPad 2. The event which can be followed at different times around the globe, click here for more information, will hopefully clear up what seems like months of rumor and speculation.

During the event, its hoped that we will see the iPad 2 in the flesh, have a specification listing to peruse, a guide on pricing and of course news on whether we can purchase one of the tablets straight away. But for some the iPad 2 tab may be “just a flash in the pan” as it were, many may feel a little disappointed by the end of the announcement, or so its been reported from an Apple employee who at this point remains “nameless.”

According to Slashgear via Cult of Mac, Apple’s member of staff has quite categorically pointed out, that tablet fans shouldn’t “get their hopes up too high,” as the iPad will disappoint and the “real magic” will come with the iPad 3 expected to show itself later this year. Following on from this, the supposed source went on to say that the second generation tablet will undergo a “number of problems along the way, and the third generation iPad is the one to make a song and a dance about.”

As Slashgear pointed out, already today suggestions have pointed to leaked photos of the tablet and talk of the inclusion of the Retina Display now experiencing problems due to “technology time-scales” not being able to match up with the current refresh cycle.

The iPad 3 or iPad Mini as its also been named, is a concept that we have spoken about on a handful of occasions, and if the device does make an appearance at the latter part of 2011, it is rumored to include a smaller 7-inch screen, although this is still a little doubtful as CEO Steve Jobs has dismissed this idea in the past.
