Console Customization: NES Gets Refurbished

When it comes to console customization there are lots of different designs on the Internet, there’s literally allsorts. One of our previous favorites was the giant Nintendo Table that was an actual oversized controller for the original Nintendo console.

Now we have seen some new console customization where the NES has been completely refurbished. Over at Engadget, their author Michael Gorman is reporting that the device contains something different to the normal 8-bit console innards… much more!

The person that has created this device has managed to cram in an Asus AT3IONT-I Delux motherboard with an NVIDIA Ion GPU, an Intel Atom 330 dual-core processor, six USB 2.0 ports, a wireless card, Ethernet and Bluetooth connectivity as well as VGA and HDMI ports.

There’s even a nice new paintjob on to old school console. There’s another article on a Nintendo blog that you can view on this link that shows all of the different stages as the creator went along. This got us thinking about console mods and made us wonder, what are your favorite console modifications? Have you been doing some yourself? If you have then why not let us know so that we can share your creativity with the world?
