Motorola Xoom: 7-inch Model Hinted: Would It Succeed?

When it comes to tablet PCs we have seen quite a few different ones in recent times. CES 2011 was littered with them, no less than fifty of them were showcased and then when MWC 2011 came along even more of them were revealed!

Cast your mind back to CES and think about the Motorola Xoom being show, then think about what has happened between then and now. That’s right the Xoom is on the market and it has even been hacked already to run at 1.5GHz. Undoubtedly the Motorola Xoom is a great device and has some fantastic specs but now we are hearing that there are hints of a potential 7-inch model making its way onto the scene. We want to know if it would succeed or not?

We learned of these rumors through a report by Kevin Krause over on Phandroid, he says that Sanjay Jha mentioned that Motorola is already working on a 7-inch Android tablet. Perhaps a variety of sizes of tablet will be good for Motorola.

Interestingly there’s a report over on PCMag.com by Sascha Segan where he talks about the potential 7-inch tablet perhaps having the same docking capabilities of the Motorola Atrix, that would be a bit special don’t you think?

Are you looking forward to a 7-inch version of the Motorola Xoom? Let us know in the comments section below.

Yes! A 7 inch size would be so much easier to port around for anyone in my profession. I am a caregiver for senior citizens and I'm looking forward to a tablet that is sized between a smart phone and an iPad so I can carry it along with my other work gear. It would be great to share music and videos with my clients on a screen size they can see but that isn't so big that it is heavy and a big effort to be carried in my purse. Also, I could stay in touch socially during my breaks or email the office. Please hurry and make this happen.
