Apple iPad 2: Will It Feature Thunderbolt?

When it comes to the Apple iPad 2, there have been so many rumors about it that it’s pretty hard to keep track of. With the iPad 2, we have recently reported on some mock up pictures asking if you think they are the real deal or not and there’s also been speculation that the sought after new tablet will launch straight after the event on March 2nd.

We have seen plenty of cases coming out for Apple’s tablet PC to be with various incisions around it. Then we recently saw the release of the new MacBooks and on them was a new peripheral called Thunderbolt. What is Thunderbolt? It’s a new type of connection that is said to be twice as fast as USB 3.0 and could eventually replace Ethernet and USB connections.

If you would like to learn more about Thunderbolt peripherals then you might want to read an article over on PRNews by Daniel Chubb, he explains about the speeds of data transfer. One of the advantages of Thunderbolt as Slashgear’s Chris Davies points out is that it would enable faster iTunes synchronization.

The stage is set nicely for Apple to drop the bomb and say that the iPad 2 will have Thunderbolt but remember nothing has been confirmed yet, it’s all speculation. Do you think the iPad 2 will have Thunderbolt? Let us know in the comments section below.
