Low Budget Tablet PCs From Archos Arnova: 8 & 10-inch Models

When you think about which of the tablet PCs you like and which one you would like to buy, price has to come into it somewhere along the line. Many people are disappointed at the price of the Motorola Xoom and have been waiting to see what the iPad 2 is priced at.

Now we have heard that there is some low budget tablet PCs from Archos. If price was an issue for you with the Xoom then perhaps one of these tablets will be better suited to you. Over at Engadget, Joanna Stern mentions that whilst Archos already make fairly cheap tablets, the company has now managed to go even cheaper. If you are looking for a low budget tablet PC in either a 10 or an 8-inch model then Archos are worth a look.

The Archos Arnova in the 8-inch size is priced at just $149, it has 4GB of integrated storage, an expandable microSD slot and its CPU is the Rockchip RK2818. It doesn’t weigh very much either, its only 500 grams and currently runs on Android 2.1. You can read more about its specs over at armdevices.net and watch the video at the end of the article.

As for the Arnova 10-inch model, it’s priced at just $199 and has double the integrated storage of the 8-incher pulling it up to 8GB, it has a resistive touchscreen running at 1024×600, a Rockchip RK2818 CPU and it even has a front-facing camera.
