Sony PSP Price Dropped: Stealing Some Of The 3DS Sales?

Savvy Sony has just dropped the price of the Sony PSP to cool $130. The device on offer is the PSP-3000 and for all of you gaming fans that don’t quite want to fork out for the 3DS but can’t wait for the NGP this could be a pretty good stop gap solution.

Engadget’s Vlad Savov also mentions that there will be some more titles added to the $20 PSP Greatest Hits collection., some of these titles include Assassin’s Creed: Bloodlines, LittleBigPlanet and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. A few decent titles there don’t you think?

Sony’s PlayStation Blog is the original source for this information, they are informing us that the date that this immense deal starts on if February 27th. They also mention that the PSP Entertainment packs will be available for $159.99. Head on over to the PlayStation blog and check out the other titles that are having their prices slashed, there’s pretty much something for everyone.

When it comes to the Nintendo 3DS where pre-orders have already started and the will be shipped next month, will this really dent their sales… We don’t think so! The 3DS offers something a little different in that it has the 3D technology and we think it will be a hit. Also we have read quite a few different comments on Engadget and many of them are saying that they will just wait for the NGP.

What do you think of the offer from Sony? Will you be picking up a new PSP or have you already pre-ordered your 3DS? If not maybe you are waiting for the NGP? Tell us in the comments below.

Comments on engadget aren't a reliable source. The attitude on that website towards nintendo= fail.. No, I'm not a nintendo fanboy. Just stating my observations.

Hey Nick, thanks for your comment. Luckily I was just drawing opinion from Engadget, there were some similar comments over on the PlayStation blog. I just find it hard to believe that Sony are actually doing this now instead of months ago.
