HTC Arrive Release on Sprint: March 20 Windows Phone 7 Handset

A few days ago we told how there had been heavy hints about the HTC 7 Pro coming to Sprint and it seems this will indeed materialize as we have just heard that the rebranded smartphone, which for Sprint will now be called the HTC Arrive, will be released on March 20.

Sprint made an official announcement today to say that the HTC Arrive is coming and this is great news for those of you who wanted a Windows Phone 7 device on Sprint as the HTC 7 Pro is one of the most popular WP7 handsets so far. Some of the specs include a 3.6-inch WVGA touchscreen with 1GHz Snapdragon processor, a 5-megapixel camera capable of 720p HD video recording along with 16GB of storage, according to Zach Epstein over on BGR.

Sprint TV and Sprint Navigation will be carried on the HTC Arrive and it will also have copy and paste as it will run on the updated Windows Phone 7 OS from Microsoft. You can already pre-order from today and the price with a two-year contract will be $199.99 after a mail-in rebate of $100. The press release at the BGR link above also tells of the unique Start screen with Hub for convenient access and customizable Live Tiles. The HTC Arrive will also offer Xbox LIVE and Zune integration.

If you’re interested in the HTC Arrive then check out the Sprint product page for it at the link, which gives an overview of the device. To pre-order though you need to visit a Sprint store and purchase a $50 Sprint gift card whereby your details will be added to a Device Wait List. An article by Joel Evans on ZDNet points out that the timing of the announcement is pretty bad after recent problems reported about the Windows Phone 7 OS update, although 90% of those who upgraded apparently did so with no problem.

Are you keen to get a WP7 device on Sprint? What will make you choose this handset over other upcoming phones? Why not let us know by sending your comments using the box below.

Good specs but the lack of 4G will keep me from returning my Epic for this device.
