Apple Event March 2nd: iPad 2 Announcement?

Here at OSM we bring you all of the latest and breaking news regarding Apple’s products and we are pleased to say that we have some potentially interesting iPad 2 news to share with you.

Apple has reportedly scheduled an event on the 2nd March, which has strongly been predicted as the day when they announce and unveil their 2nd generation iPad. The event is set to be held in the Yerba Buena Center of Arts, San Francisco, according to All Things D via Mashable. If these reports do indeed turn out to be accurate then it will mean that earlier rumours of a delay to Apple’s new tablet are untrue.

According to Phones Review, if the event is definately going ahead then it is likely Apple will start sending out invitations so that the media can prepare. It is not clear whether CEO Steve Jobs will make an appearance or lead the event as he is currently on medical leave, due to increasing health concerns. Jobs or not, the upcoming event should be one to remember if we all get our first look at the iPad 2.

Apple’s hugely successful tablet could just be about to get a whole lot bigger and the whole tech world will be watching. So what can we expect from the iPad mark 2? Mashable has listed some of the most likely rumoured features, which are a front and rear facing camera, a dual-core CPU and/or GPU, a slimmer lighter design with support Retina Display and also a non-smudge screen and a gyroscope.

Speculation on the fabled iPad 2 has been one of the hottest talking points over the past few months and we have heard plenty of crazy suggestions, with even Sir Elton John trying to lend a helping hand on some of its features. The legendary musician who hates technology admitted he would have to get one to stay in touch with his newly adopted son on Skype. Follow the link for more details.
