U2 Concert: “Keeping the memories alive with Facebook”

Irish rock band “U2” who originally formed in 1976 and have had at least 12 studio albums and over 150 million records sold worldwide, have now come up with a genius way of using social media. Networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter will not only be used to promote the band to the rest of the world, but the latest idea will benefit fans who attended their concert in Soccer City Johannesburg.

The group which over the years has received global success with albums such as The Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby, has set up a new social media project giving concert goers the chance to find themselves in the crowd, tag and then send the photo to Facebook to show off to their friends, or to keep the memory alive.

You may be asking how this works? Well the 360 degree concert works on a huge Gigapixel camera, that has been positioned to see every single person in the crowd. As memeburn.com reported, once on U2’s Facebook page, the idea is that the device can then zoom in using excellent quality imagery, to find you or your friends within the vast hordes of fans. Once spotted, the simple task is then to tag and send either to your Facebook, Twitter or email account.
