Having A Cocktail Party? 5 Good Apps For That

With winter coming to an end it may be a good time to dust off the cocktail glasses and start perfecting your mixing skills for the summer. Or if you have a party coming up and want to whip up plenty of fruity combos then we are here to help. We are going to be rounding up 5 great cocktail making apps for the iPhone and iPod Touch, courtesy of Mashable.

The first snazzy app out there is “Drinkspiration By Absolut”, which is a good partner to have if you are looking to try something new. The main beverages that the app will suggest revolve around Vodka, Rum, Gin, Brandy, Tequila and Whiskey.

“Drinks & Cocktails by drinks999.co.uk” is the next app to check out as it provides you with no less than 1,200 different recipes as well as a good visual look at the cocktail itself. If you want to choose your drinks based on colour then this is definately for you!

If you are a Martini manic then this next app should be right up your street. “Top Martini Recipes” is a nice blend of visuals, ingredients and instructions to help you make the perfect Martini. The app also comes with a cool feature which allows you to shake the device for the generation of a random recipe, with the picture of a cocktail shaker being comically displayed on the screen.

This next app is ideal to have with you during social events as it will suggest cocktails based on what the event is. The handy companion called “thebar.com” would for example suggest a Tequila Sunrise if you input the event as being a holiday. You can download and buy all of these great apps from iTunes with a majority being free; plenty more can be found my paying a visit to Mashable.

The final app we will bring you is the best and is different from the others in the sense that it has social media integration with it. The penultimate application is called the “iSwig” and is sort of like a social drinking game which involves you taking pictures of your drinks and spreading the word to your friends after you have just downed them. The app is a big mix of Facebook, Foursquare, Flickr and Twitter, with competition sure to be spicy. We hope the suggested apps make your party successful, will you use any of them?
