Samsung Galaxy S 4G: T-Mobile’s Official Release Date & Price

Whilst much of the talk in world of the mobile phone has been about the expected announcements of the iPhone 5 and the anticipation of the HTC Thunderbolt, we wouldn’t want you to forget about any of the other handsets that are looking a bit tasty.

One of the smartphones we are talking about is the Samsung Galaxy S 4G. This device has a 4” super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen at the resolution of 480×800, it has a 1GHz processor and will be running on the Android 2.2 version. Other specifications include a 5 megapixel camera rear-facing camera as well as a front-facing camera but for the full list head over to phonearena.com.

Over at phandroid.com Quentyn Kennemer is reporting that T-Mobile has revealed their pricing for the device. The price will be $199.99 after you get your $50 mail-in rebate. If this is the smartphone that you are after then you can pick it up in stores on February 23rd. The original source came through Twitter; you can view the T-Mobile Tweet by clicking here and you can also read the T-Mobile press release.

It looks like a decent phone however we have been reading some frustrations that it seems to be too similar to the Vibrant and also at the lack of flash with the camera, but is that enough to stop you picking one up?

Will you be picking up a Samsung Galaxy S 4G with T-Mobile? Is there enough difference between this phone and the Vibrant for it to pull you in? Let us know in the comments section below.
