Motorola Atrix 4G: Already Rooted Before Release and How To

One of the most talked-about upcoming smartphones has to be the Motorola Atrix 4G, an Android phone which will be the first 4G handset to come to AT&T. We’ve written many times about this phone and among our most recent articles were news on pricing, a review roundup and its inclusion in our pick of the best Android smartphones announced so far for 2011.

If you’re waiting for the Motorola Atrix you will no doubt have heard the good news that for once a release date is being brought forward and instead of waiting until March it will be out in only a few more days on February 22. We’ve heard more news today about the Atrix 4G from Kenneth Pennington over on BriefMobile who tells us that before it has even hit the shelves the phone has been rooted.

The rooting came from those ingenious people at designgears and also Getaphixx and will enable people to customize their Atrix 4G’s and tweak their phones from release day. There are also rooting instructions available at the BriefMobile link above but for obvious reasons we cannot recommend you do this although of course, that’s your choice.

If you’re interested in getting your hands on the Motorola Atrix 4G, while you’re waiting a few more days you may be interested in checking out an article by Vincent Nguyen on Slash Gear, which shows an unboxing and hands-on experience. What are your thoughts on the Motorola Atrix 4G being rooted already? Are you planning to root your phone? Why not send us your comments to let us know.
