Nokia Developers Gifted Nokia E7 & WP7 Handsets

We are back to the Nokia and Microsoft partnership and following on from the 1,000 striking Nokia workers who walked out following announcement about the deal. Well today is a good day to be a Nokia developer, all developers are now being given a Nokia E7 and a Nokia WP7 handset as soon as it becomes available.

Over at Slashgear Chris Davies hits the nail on the head when he says that the decision to go with Microsoft wasn’t met with glee from many developers but it actually looks like since the deal was struck, Nokia are going about things properly.

When Engadget’s Thomas Ricker says that Nokia are fighting an uphill battle to retain its developer community whilst it switches over to Windows Phone 7 and its own phone developer tools, it was pretty important that they devised a strategy to keep everyone on side.

What better way to do it than to give out free devices. Ricker goes on to say that Nokia are also throwing in a few other incentives such as free access to the next Nokia Developer Summit and three months technical support for any Nokia technology along with a few other sweeteners.

How do you predict that the partnership will work between Nokia and Microsoft? Do you think they will fail miserably as they have on their own or succeed together? Let us know in the comments section below.
