New Dell Smartphones: 2011 Lineup Revealed in Roadmap

Are you a Dell enthusiast and if so, are you after a new smartphone? If so you might want to hold tight as the new Dell lineup of smartphones has just been revealed via a leaked roadmap from the company. As well as revealing new handsets in the pipeline we also hear mention of the next Android operating system.

Our attention was drawn to the roadmap in an article by Sean Hollister over on Engadget, sourced from Android Central and WP Central. The names of different devices on the roadmap may be codenames so they may not actually be released with the names we’ll give you. After the Dell Venue and Venue Pro, which we already know about, we see a Venue Pro MLK due in April, which is listed as having additional features and enhancements.

Going into Q3 the Wrigley makes an arrival in July, described as having Windows Phone 7 Next Generation and also a 4-inch display, 1GHz processor and 8-megapixel camera with 720p video recording capability. The next handset is where it gets really interesting as the Hancock coming late August/early September is detailed as having the next Android OS, which is named here as Ice Cream, something we speculated on only days ago. The Hancock will feature a dual-core processor and 4-inch qHD screen and 1080p video recording.

Finally around October we can see the Millenium, also running on Android Ice Cream and with a dual-core processor. This will feature a 4.3-inch qHD display and DLNA support. Any of this could change of course but it does supply a good insight into what is likely to be coming.
