Happy Valentine’s Day: Google Celebrates With A Doodle

We at OSM cover most of the Google Doodles that appear in place of the normal logo on everyone’s favored search engine, they normally change it for a special occasion or for an event. Guess what, today is no different as its Valentine’s Day!

Recent Google Doodles have seen the famous inventor Thomas Edison celebrating his birthday, Paul Cezanne’s birthday and Martin Luther King Day. Check below for a picture of today’s Doodle or click here to see it on the Google Page.

Valentine’s Day is celebrated on February 14th and is seen as a day to celebrate love and affection with your partner. Back in 1969, Pope Paul VI removed the date from the roman calendar of saints however Saint Valentine’s day lives on and its religious observance is still permitted.

It’s a day where romantic gestures such sending flowers, chocolates and Valentine’s Day cards are sent. I know that my wife especially enjoys the dozen red roses that I normally send to her work place (fingers crossed that she does this year too).

Normally the cards have a special message or poem within them so we thought for all of you last minute people out there we would lend you a helping hand. If you would like to read through a list of Valentine’s day poems head over to stvalentinesday.org and read through some on there that have been contributed. So come on guys, get soppy as this is a day that all your wives and girlfriends will appreciate it.

What have you done this year to make your loved one’s Valentine’s day special? Is there anything that you and your partner do each year to remember your love for one another? Let us know in the comments section below.
