Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro: MWC Official specs & release news

There’s plenty of news arriving already from MWC 2011 which officially starts tomorrow. In the last few weeks we’d brought you news on the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, Xperia Arc and Xperia Neo, which we knew we would hear more of at MWC. However there was one more phone, apparently called the Xperia Duo, which was still a mystery.

However we now hear of the official specs and release details of this fourth Sony Ericsson handset, which is actually confirmed now as the Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro. The news comes to us from Joshua Topolsky over on Engadget. The Xperia pro is looking pretty impressive and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, as does the Xperia neo, which we also gave specs and release details on earlier.

The Xperia pro also comes with a 3.7-inch display with 854 x 480 resolution and features a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard. The specs in fact are very similar to the neo as it also has a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 8-megapixel camera and 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Color options are different to the neo though as the pro comes in black, red or silver options.

The pro as you might expect from the name has professional functions such as pre-loaded Office Suite pro and the ability to sync e-mail, calendar and contacts securely. The Xperia pro release is set for the end of Q2. If you want to read more about the Xperia pro then head to Sony Ericsson news from MWC here.
