Samsung Galaxy Tab II & Galaxy S II (2): First pictures from MWC

We’ve been keeping up-to-speed with all the developments before MWC 2011 this week and have already given you details of several Samsung leaks about its upcoming tablet and smartphone. In the last couple of days alone we’ve confirmed the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 will be running Android 3.0 Honeycomb and would make an appearance at MWC 2011.

Yesterday we then gave more leaks of specs for the Galaxy S2 smartphone and Galaxy Tab 2 including a picture of the S2, and then later yesterday we gave news of the confirmed names of these two devices, to be known as the Galaxy S II and the Galaxy Tab II, along with more specs.

Now we have some further news today of the first official pictures of the Tab II and S II at a MWC 2011 event, even though it has not officially kicked off yet. The Samsung invitational event will actually happen later today but these pictures are well worth a look as it’s the first time we’ve seen the Galaxy Tab II, which is looking and sounding pretty impressive, as is the S II phone. The news comes to us from Sean Hollister over on Engadget, sourced from the Samsung Hub and you can hit the link to find even more photos.

Stuart Dredge on Cnet UK also gives news on these official photos of the Samsung Devices, and notes that the Galaxy S II will have a “Readers Hub, Social Hub, Games Hub, Music Hub”, and also says that Samsung is now working on a new 3D-capable 4-inch WVGA display for smartphones which we will hopefully hear more about at the Samsung event later today, as well as a new Motion UI.

If this is just a taste of things to come from MWC 2011 we’re already getting excited so check back with us for much more news from the big event as it continues.
