HTC Thunderbolt & Motorola Xoom: Official Date & Price At Best Buy

The Thunderbolt from HTC is one of the most talked about smartphones, along with the Motorola Xoom tablet winging their way to us. News has been mixed mainly due to release dates, but today we can give you official details. Launch dates being thrown around initially were Valentines Day 14th February, whilst another date being that of the 24th.

As well as this, we have seen the Thunderbolt being unboxed, we have told you about possible retailers jumping onto the bandwagon such as Amazon, Debbie reported on the possibility of it featuring personal hotspot although news of this is constantly changing, and we asked the question whether the HTC would achieve fast speed results running on a single core processor?

Coming back to the release date which to be fair, is on the forefront of everybody’s mind? We can tell you that the Best Buy official release date is the 24th and we now have a fixed price for the Thunderbolt and Xoom.

BGR via Droid Life has managed to source a Best Buy advertisement listing the above 2 devices. The Xoom will retail for $799, although subscribers will have to pay for at least a month’s worth of mobile broadband to activate the WiFi. The Thunderbolt will be $249 with a 2-year contract, with a stand alone price of $749.99 which I have to say is a tad bit expensive, a view expressed by BGR.

As gizmocrave.com reported, the 4.3-incher running on Android’s 2.2 OS will be the first handset to reach America with 4G LTE, which will give a downstream speed of 5-12Mbps, HTC Sense interface, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 8 megapixel camera including a front facing video camera, 8GB of internal storage, 768 RAM and pre-installed with 32GB microSD.

Are you a Thunderbolt or Xoom fan? Will you be hot-footing it down to Best Buy on the 24th?

Haha ya right $800 thats a joke. Plus the extra confusion. Competetors here I come. Its not the only 2 core honeycomb coming out very soon. Others have already posted there prices of very close to same speced products for alot cheaper.

Go ahead and get a competitors tablet. The Xoom is at the top of every list. The only complaint is cost but thats only if you compare, but if you compare specs you can see why.
