FCUK Launch Facebook Store This Month: Dove Comes Later

Following the new trend set by ASOS, Dove and FCUK are launching their official stores through Facebook. It seems like Facebook is the new ‘IN’ thing when it comes to driving social commerce but will it last?

If the Facebook stats are anything to go by then there’s no reason why it shouldn’t. Facebook has more than 500 million users signed up and over half of them check back daily performing different activities.

This follows the source of social commerce style was set by ASOS who kicked their store off at the end of January; ASOS have the bragging rights of being the first company to allow a purchase without leaving Facebook and now we are hearing the news through NewMediaAge that the FCUK store will be joining in by the end of February and the Dove one later this year.

Moves like this suggests that different companies are dabbling with the idea of their brand name using social media and social networking, and you can’t blame them really. The amount of people that are on Facebook and that spend a lot of time on there is unbelievable. You only have to look at what happens on Facebook inside 20 minutes.

Surely it’s only a matter of time before all of the big brands start to move over to the Facebook platform, we can see the likes of sportswear giants Nike making the jump as well as a whole host of others. French Connection has two pages, one for men and one for women, we are guessing it will be these that are updated but we will confirm this when it launches.
