One of the most important sporting events on the yearly calendar in America, took place on the Sunday just gone in North Texas, yes that’s right, the Super Bowl with the Green Bay Packers beating off competition against rivals the Pittsburgh Steelers. We gave you news that potentially would give you a $20 discount off NFL merchandise as part of Foursquare’s “Super Bowl Sunday,” Christina Aguilera proved to be a talking point when she forget some of the words to the American National Anthem and so on.

Particularly this year, Super Bowl advertisements seemed to grab our attention, from Motorola’s Xoom tablet, Angry Birds and last but definitely not least VW and their offerings.

It seems 2 advertisements titled “The Force” and “Black Beetle” from Volkswagen proved to be hits on YouTube. As Examiner.com reported, leading up to the big game at the weekend, The Force featuring 6-year old Max Page a.k.a. a mini Darth Vader, went viral pulling in 12 million before it had time to showcase itself on Sunday.

The Force grabbed number one spot with a staggering 16.4 million, making it as Mashable reported, one of the most popular Super Bowl videos on YouTube, whilst Black Beetle seemed to pull in 1.9 million views giving it second place.

Along with the concept of the Beetle which was initially put into production back in 1938, other advertisements such as Doritos “Pug Attack,” Chrysler “Imported from Detroit,” and so on could be seen.
