Verizon iPhone 4 TeleNav Free App: GPS Made Easy

Just a few weeks ago the big red “Verizon,” ended all speculation by announcing its forthcoming iPhone 4 on 10th February. Although the device could be pre-ordered on the 3 February, it will be just a matter of days now until we see the highly anticipated handset. Here at OSM we have managed to bring you reports of new cases to fit the slightly redesigned device, as well as a tear down of the iPhone 4, shipping information, Greenpois0n jailbreak tool and so on. But the one piece of news that caught our eye today is that of the “TeleNav” GPS app.

Just the other day, we gave you information on 10 of the best apps for your Verizon number, including Cut the Rope, Instagram and Hipstamatic, but the new GPS app which comes out on the 10th and will be free from Apple’s App Store, will give you not just accessibility to free maps but the option of carrying out local searches.

The app will initially cost you nothing for the first 30 days, but consequently afterwards if you choose to have the more “advanced navigation features,” this will set you back either $2.99 per month on as PCMag.com reported, a “pay as you go” option or, $21.99 as an annual figure. So before mulling it over and weighing up whether the cost is sufficient to your needs, let me just tell you what else you can expect to find on the TeleNav app.

As well as having just the basic information such as the free maps already mentioned, you will benefit from 3D moving maps with the option of zoom in and out, advanced navigation features including night-time adjusted brightness, spoken turn by turn directions with street names, and access to over 22 million landmarks, ATM’s, airports, business information and as intomobile.com reported, the benefit of playing your favorite songs whilst in the middle of navigating and so on. To find out more on this and to receive an automatic e-mail notification on when the app has arrived, click here.

Co-Founder and Vice President of TeleNav “Sal Dhanani” said, “We designed this app and the pricing structure to give people a choice when it comes to meeting their GPS needs… Our goal is to make it easy for people to find where to go and how to get there with the best choice in personalized navigation.”

Tell us, firstly if you are waiting for the Verizon iPhone 4 on the 10th and if so, will you consider this new app?
