SCVNGR: Coming To LG Optimus V- Via Virgin Mobile

SCVNGR, the location based mobile game which asks users to complete challenges has announced ealier today that it will arrive preloaded on the LG Optimus V smartphone.

This is thanks to a new partnership between SCVNGR and Sprint, which will see the check in app come to Android and sit comfortably next to the YouTube application icon on the homescreen. The LG Optimus V is the newest prepaid smartphone from Virgin Mobile USA, who are owned by Sprint.

According to Mashable, the slim Android smartphone is similar to the Optimus S and comes contract free for $149.99 with the check in app ready to go. The SCVNGR CEO Seth Priebatsch, has expressed his excitement about the growth and announced that his company is “wickedly close” to reaching the big miletone of 1 million members.

Venture Beat has reported that although the deal with Virgin Mobile is not exclusive, it is the first time ever that a check in service has ever come preloaded on a smartphone.
