Apple iPad 2 Built-In Adjustable Kickstand: Times Run Out?

As we near the unveiling of Apple’s next generation iPad, a patent put forward at the USPTO showed a neat kickstand built-in to the back of the tablet.

A report by GizmoCrunch says that the Steve Jobs engineering department has been putting a lot of effort into extending foot, which will allow various levels of support to the portable device.

Although it is unlikely that the flexible stand will be assigned to iPad 2 duties, it could offer its adjustable presence to future iPad variants like the iPad 3. TUAW.com shows a sketch of the kickstand and its versatility in assisting easier use of the tablet.

Whether being used in landscape or portrait settings, the extra leg can help with typing and other media activities.

It has been remarked that Apple’s research and development department works very hard on exploring new ideas to furnish their devices, and even if they fail to see the light of day Apple tend to secure the patent paperwork to cover their efforts.

It is a very strong possibility that even though there are plenty of after-market iPad cases including kickstands, the introduction of one already built-in to the unit will be a big plus-point when it comes to making that final tablet decision. Tell us if you think that the kickstand idea is a good one and if you think that it has missed the boat for iPad 2 inclusion?
