Verizon iPhone: Pre-orders for all Feb 9, on sale Feb 10 at 7AM

Here at OSM we’ve been following the news of the Verizon iPhone for as long as we can remember and when we heard of the iPhone finally coming to Verizon for release on February 10, we continued to bring you more news about it, such as our recent posts on the confirmed price and talk plans, and also the news that an update to the operating system will be available on release.

We also brought you the news recently about how pre-orders for existing Verizon Wireless customers would be taken from February 3 (tomorrow) from 3AM, along with details of trade-in prices. Now we hear further news today from Vlad Savov over on Engadget, sourced from an Apple press release, that pre-orders will now be open to all on February 9 so that even if you are not an existing VZW subscriber you can now still reserve your iPhone, or have it delivered for launch, the following day.

What’s more on the actual release day (February 10) store doors will open at 7AM, which just by coincidence happens to be the same time as when the iPhone 4 went on sale for AT&T last year. The CDMA iPhone 4 for Verizon will be available at Verizon stores, Apple Stores, and from some other partners so there are plenty of options available including a phone number 1-800-2 JOIN IN.

Meanwhile if you’re still undecided whether to buy an iPhone on Verizon or the existing carrier AT&T, there’s a handy comparison table over on Syracuse.com by Geoff Herbert, that could help you make up your mind. Have you already pre-ordered your Verizon iPhone 4 or will you be waiting in line on February 10, or maybe you’d rather wait for the iPhone 5? Why not let us know with your comments.
