LG Optimus 3D: No Glasses 3D – Reveal at MWC 2011

LG like most other brands are trying to find a niche in any market possible, one of the biggest and most profitable of course is in smartphones. We have recently been reading reports of what could be the LG Optimus 3D.

With the advances in 3D cameras such as the Sony Handycam, where you can record in full HD 3D and then play it back on its glasses-less 3D screen, it doesn’t sound too farfetched to have a smartphone performing the same thing.

Whilst we cannot be 100% sure that this is indeed a 3D smartphone, it looks like it could be. According to Phandoird’s Rob Jackson, it has a large screen (or the person holding it has extremely small hands) that looks to be around the 4” marker, dual-core processing and multi-channel RAM.

If the above details are correct, it’s not inconceivable that the device will feature in MWC 2011 on February 14th so keep an eye out for this bad boy. Engadget’s Ross Miller also reports that the Optimus 3D has a dual-lens 3D camera and a glasses-free LCD screen.

The full press release is shown over on the LG.blog where the device was demonstrated back at CES 2011, check out the video at the bottom of the article. You can also get involved on the Phadroid forums on this device if you want to.
